Erik began teaching students who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing 9 years ago. During the last 9 years, he has taught students from Kindergarten to 12th grade, as a classroom teacher as well as a technology teacher. Currently, he teaches technology classes at Metro Deaf School, seeking to teach students how to use technology through activities integrated with subject matter they are covering in other classes. He also supports the staff at Metro Deaf School through organizing technology training for the staff as well as going in and supporting staff with technology use in their classrooms. In the large world of technology, Erik is very excited the impact mobile devices are having in the classroom, and the benefits of video in the classroom; especially for students who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing.

When not thinking about school or technology, Erik enjoys hiking in his home state of Colorado, being active in his church, and reading (on his iPad of course :) )
